Community Impact

Access to Justice Transforms Lives

Spotlighting one of PLC’s stories of impact

Public Law Center works to serve and empower the community, and this is one example of that work. The Break Every Chain Foundation was born from one woman’s promise to give back after experiencing homelessness herself — sleeping at times right outside the doors of the Public Law Center. Her small but mighty nonprofit lifts up unhoused individuals and struggling families through programs like Tiny Tot’s Diaper Program and Toys for Tots.

But when a single paperwork error led to a suspension of their charitable status, everything came crashing down – their website offline, donations halted, and hope fading. That’s when the Public Law Center stepped in. Our Small Business & Nonprofit Clinic helped her navigate four years of filings, made the right calls, and fought to get her fully reinstated – just in time to serve families for the holidays.

Today, her foundation is thriving again, proof that when the Public Law Center removes barriers to justice, the impact echoes far beyond one person – it transforms entire communities. Your support, whether through pro bono service or a donation, fuels stories like hers – turning compassion into action, and second chances into lasting change.

Help Drive Justice Forward

Your support empowers and protects families and those most vulnerable in our community through access to fair representation and a fighting chance at justice. Together, we can ensure justice is not selective, but accessible to all and build an Orange County where everyone can thrive.
